William Brandon, M.D., M.P.H., M.H.A. has assumed the role of medical director for Harbor Community Health Center, Hyannis (HCHCH). Dr. Brandon comes to Harbor with extensive experience both in administrative and clinical leadership, and was most recently the Chief Medical Officer/Executive Director of the Wentworth Douglas Physician Corporation. Brandon succeeds Dr. Lindley Gifford, who will continue to provide medical care at HCHCH on a part-time basis.
Dr. Brandon is a Board Certified Family Practice Physician with widespread experience in patient centered medical home management and quality patient care. He is enthusiastic about returning to the community health care field and excited about the health center’s move to a new facility on Attucks Lane in Hyannis in spring of 2014. “The new building will give us space to grow so that we will be able to offer a full spectrum of comprehensive services to the community,” he says. “I’m looking forward to the challenge of recruiting providers and other health care personnel and expanding access to those who need affordable health care.”
About Harbor Community Health Center, Hyannis
Harbor Health Service, Inc. (HHSI) is the parent organization for the Harbor Community Health Center, Hyannis, and the Ellen Jones Community Dental Center (EJCDC), Harwich. HCHCH and ELCDC provide high-quality medical, dental and social services to patients in Barnstable County and throughout Cape Cod. In addition to serving low-income communities, new immigrants and marginally-insured patients, the centers assist members of the business community, including those who are self-employed or under-insured, and their employees to find health care options and answers.
To meet the tremendous demand for affordable health care throughout Cape Cod, HCHC-Hyannis recently started construction on a larger facility in Hyannis, doubling its ability to serve those who are uninsured or underinsured. The move to the new building on Attucks Lane is expected to take place in late spring 2014.
