To kick-off National Health Center Week 2013, Harbor Health Services, Inc. hosted its 3rd Annual Community Party on August 11th at our corporate offices! The event was sponsored by NextGen Healthcare and featured music from Mix 104.1, free ice cream from J.P. Licks, raffle prizes from Ashmont Grill, College Hype, The Joe Andruzzi Foundation and Griffin Electric. A special appearance from Wally the Green Monster, Official Mascot of the Boston Red Sox, delighted both children and adults. The Boston Police Department and EasCare Ambulance showed off their service vehicles while Neighborhood Health Plan and Network Health educated guests about health insurance options.
This year’s theme for National Health Center Week is “Celebrating America’s Health Centers: Transforming Health Care in Our Local Communities.” We took this into consideration when planning our event by crafting a day that would feel more like a backyard gathering than a typical health fair. We consider our patients a part of our family and we wanted to invite them over to our house to celebrate. And that is how health centers are transforming health care: by offering services right around the block and creating new places for individuals to call their medical home.
