Expansion on Cape Cod

With the number of patients Harbor Community Health Center-Hyannis(HCHC-H) sees on a day-to-day basis, it was only a matter of time before they needed to find a larger location. The new home of HCHC-H, formerly Mid-Upper Cape Community Health Center will be located on Attucks Lane in Hyannis, a short distance from the Cape Cod Mall. Plans are to open the new facility in the Winter of 2013.

Harbor Health Services staff are preparing for the big move by taking on new responsibilities and positions. David Reidy, current Executive Director of Harbor Community Health Center and Ellen Jones Dental Center, will take on the position of agency Compliance Officer/ Director of Corporate Administrative Services. Nancy Bucken, Executive Director of Neponset Health Center and Geiger Gibson Health Center will transition to the open position. I had a chance to speak with David Reidy recently about his new position within Harbor Health Services as well as the new building for HCHC-H.

“Healthy citizens are the greatest asset any country can have.”-Winston Churchill

David has been working with Harbor Health Services, Inc.(HHSI) since 2005 and chose to work in the health care field because of the camaraderie and activity of the job. He is excited about his new role as Compliance Officer and Director of Corporate Administrative Services as it will directly help with getting the new Harbor Community Health Center-Hyannis location up and running and within budget. When asked what he is most proud of, he doesn’t name any of his career accomplishments but instead gives the crown to his family. David’s hero is Winston Churchill because of “the adversity that he faced” and in his free time he enjoys boating, golf and skiing.

Good luck to both David and Nancy in their positions. Check back for updates on Harbor Community Health Center Hyannis’s new location!
